You Can Pick Your Own Berries At This Beautiful Houston Garden This Spring
The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is hosting a Blackberry Celebration this month.
This month the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is inviting all blackberry lovers to a very unique opportunity. Unlike many months of the year, April is the perfect time to go outside and pick one of your favorite fruits right off of their vines, while they're still fresh and delicious. The big Blackberry Celebration in Houston this weekend is one you don't want to miss out on!
On Saturday, April 27th you can bring your friends and family to the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center to join in on a class all about berry picking and jam making! Along with the others in your class, you'll learn just how to harvest berries and leaves from wild Arboretum plants. Afterwards, you'll get to help make blackberry refrigerator jam for everyone to enjoy.
There are two different start times for this yummy celebration, just incase you can't make the first one! One will be starting at 1 pm and going until 3 pm and the next will start at 3:30 pm and go until 5:30 pm. If you're already a member at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, it's only $25 to join in on the fun, and $40 for everyone else.
If for whatever reason the timing for picking berries is off, don't worry! They'll be supplying store bought fruit just in case. The weather is supposed to be amazing, so make sure you dress for the occasion. Walking shoes are recommended since you'll be outdoors in the beautiful blackberry gardens.
To buy tickets and learn more about the event, you can visit the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center's website for all that and more.
