This Free Vintage Festival Is Back In Houston At The End Of The Month
Peace and love baby!
Get ready to iron out your Mom's favorite bellbottoms and borrow the family station wagon, because Houston has a far out festival that you don't want to miss. GroovFest is happening at the end of this month, and it's totally free.
GroovFest is located right outside the city of Houston, in the little town of Tomball. I say little, but this town is big in entertainment. Their Facebook page is just riddled with upcoming events and funny posts with their city mascot. Tomball brags that GroovFest was voted "Best New Festival" in Texas in 2018, so you sure don't want to miss it this year.
Haven't you always wanted to live out the flower power years? It'd be a lot cooler if you did. For me personally, I would just like a safe place to throw up the peace sign and say groovy without people judging me. Luckily, GroovFest encourages their guests to come dressed in their best sixties and seventies outfit to let their hippie flag fly. Righteous! I'm braiding my flower crown as we speak.
One of the main attractions to GroovFest is the Volkswagon car show. You'll have a gas strolling through the parking lot full of vintage Volkswagons. Don't forget to snap a selfie with a punch bug. No punch backs!
From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., watch a stellar line-up of performances by some local artists. The musical headliner is none other than The Fab 5. No, not that fab five, from Queer Eye, but a Houston-based Beatles tribute band called The Fab 5. As much as I would love to see Jonathan Van Ness up on stage being his fabulous self, I'm just as excited to see this Fab 5. Who doesn't love The Beatles?
GroovFest is an up and coming festival that will soon be a town tradition. Make sure you swing by to celebrate all things groovy, and stay trippy, hippies!
