Houston Is Ringing In The Lunar New Year With A Massive Chinese Festival This January
It'll be the largest to date!
For those who don't already know, 2020 is the Year of the Rat according to the Chinese zodiac calendar. Each year the Chinese Community Center of Houston celebrates the Lunar New Year with a massive festival, and this year's will be the biggest one yet.
Turns out we have the opportunity to celebrate well into January, so get your party hats ready because it's going to be one fun-filled month!
On Saturday, January 25 the 2020 Lunar New Year Festival will take place in Houston Chinatown from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You'll have all day to come out to their annual, free and family-friendly event. That's right, we said free!
What makes this festival so much bigger than the rest is the opening of their T.T. and W.F. Chao Senior Center and USA Sports Rec Center, where many performances will take place.
The epic Dragon and Lion dances will take place this year again, as well as other cultural performances.
Traditional food, games, artistry, and more will be showcased for every attendee to enjoy.
Houston is well-known for its ability to, and we love 'em for it.
Vendor applications are currently open for the fest, so if you'd like to apply or know someone who does, be sure to check out their website.
Whether you're new to the city or consider yourself a Houstonian, you have to check out this event as well as.
