Houston can never have too many bars. It's always an adventure to hit up a brand new spot on the weekend with your friends, determined to find the best one in the city. Well, now you don't have to bar hop anymore because the coolest new bar in Houston with volleyball and dog parks is now open. You can bring all your friends (even the furry ones!) out for volleyball, dinner, drinks, and more all at The Powder Keg Houston, which just opened last month.
Everyone has felt the guilt of leaving their pup at home all night long while you're out hanging with friends. Now you can bring your dog with you to the bar where he can run around with his fellow puppy friends. The Powder Keg has a clean and spacious dog park that includes an on-leash area, an off-leash area, waste disposal stations, doggie rinse-off stations, and more. Just make sure your dog has his vaccinations and stays near you, and you're all good.
The Powder Keg also has 4 sand volleyball courts that you and your friends can rent put by the hour for some intense games of V-ball. You can rent out a court for a team of players for only $50 an hour at any time of the week. Get ready to dig your toes in the sand, spike some balls, then relax with a cold beer afterward.
They also have 16 HD TVs you can enjoy when the big Astros game comes on. Now that is chilling in style.
This brand new bar has plenty of local beers, specialty cocktails, and wines for you to choose from. They also will have food trucks in the area so you can enjoy a hearty snack after running alongside your pup or after an intense sand volleyball game.
The Powder Keg is open 7 days a week so you can hang out any time. Their hours are Monday to Thursday from 2 PM to 12 AM, Friday and Saturday from 12 PM to 2 AM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 10 PM.
