A massive 2-weekend carnival celebration is coming near Houston soon, so get ready. Mardi Gras! Galveston 2020 will take place on February 14 - 25 so follow the beads to live music performances, plenty of parades, street bashes, and balcony parties. It's gonna be epic.

Mardi Gras Galveston is not only Texas' largest Mardi Gras celebration, but probably one of the oldest, since this year the event reaches its 109 version.

It is also the third-largest Mardi Gras celebration in the United States. That said, if you have not gone yet, you should begin making arrangements.

Although many tourists come to this Mardi Gras celebration, it will not be as crowded as New Orleans. However, the vibe of the parties and parades can get just as wild.

The bulk of the festivities will take place in Galveston’s Historic Downtown, in the Mardi Gras Entertainment District. Activities will also be happening in the area bordered by 20th to 25th Streets and Harborside Drive to Mechanic Street.

Many parades and events are also taking place along the beachfront on Seawall Boulevard, so get ready to dig your toes in the sand.

The parades are one of the most impressive attractions of the Galveston Mardi Gras. If you are planning to go, make sure you don't miss the first weekend because it is when the two most important parades will take place: the Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Parade and Krewe of Gambrinus Parade.

But, the second weekend hosts the legendary Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade.

The whole parade schedule for 2020 is insane, with an average of around 5 per day. Here you can check the complete list with times and dates.

Beyond the parades, each year this event has a complete lineup of bands, DJs and artists that offer presentations and concerts in the main stage, as well as in Electric Mardi Gras and Fiesta Gras. This year's lineup will have more than 30 artists that are yet to be announced.

Mardi Gras! Galveston is an exciting experience for everyone. They have family-friendly events to wild adult-only bashes and more than 20 balcony parties and 5 elegant masked balls.

If you are coming from another city, you can take advantage of the Mardi Gras packages some Galveston hotels offer.

The gate fee per adult per day starts at $11.50, which includes most of each day's entertainment. Balcony parties require additional tickets. And there are also packages per weekend. To know more click here
