Texas wine production is full of history and pride. As we reach summertime, we reach prime harvest season in the state. This month, Messina Hof is hosting the Bryan Harvest Festival 2019 in Bryan, Texas and everyone is invited to join in on all the picking and stomping fun.
The Moonlit Harvest on July 26 will kick off the festivities at 7:15 pm. After a "blessing of the vines", you can jump right in and mash the fresh grapes between your toes! Then, hop out and stamp your feet onto your souvenir "Harvest Crew" t-shirt.
There will even be a "Big Kahuna" contest where you present your superiorly-picked grape cluster and perform a special talent.
Dinner will be a massive buffet with all the best wine-companion foods. Tickets are $59.95, and don't forget to tip!
Then, on the following Saturday and Sunday, the festivities will continue with a Daytime Harvest Festival at 8 am, and a Terror In Tahiti Murder Mystery Dinner 7 pm.
You can get a pass to the daytime fest starting at $35, and it's activities are pretty self-explanatory—dinner, wine stomping, and loads of wine tasting. But the murder mystery dinner switches it up a little and will feature interactive theatrical entertainment, a 3-course meal, and costumes are so welcomed. The murder mystery tickets run for $69.95.
There will be ten other festivals hosted throughout July and August including a sunset harvest and a grand finale gala. With so many opportunities, it's hard not to find an excuse to visit this gorgeous Texas vineyard. You can check them all out on their website.
