This Gorgeous Free Park And Nature Trail In Houston Is A Wildflower Wonderland
These days, Houston doesn't demand a compromise when it comes to city life and exercise. Lucky for us, we have several outdoor parks and natural gems right in our front yard. And one of the best, Terry Hershey Park, doesn't require a far drive away.
Totaling at 496 acres, this park is a wildflower galore, and has a 5.5 mile-long trail for biking, hiking, and dog walking.
From wild rabbits to ducks, there's lots of wildlife here deep in the beautiful green meadows that are always filled with the seasons blooming wildflowers.
This park runs along Buffalo Bayou, and the views along the trail are pretty great. Plus, it's completely dog-friendly! The park even has doggie water fountains throughout the trails for your furry friends to enjoy as the sun beats down this hot summer.
You can check out and plan your journey down the trails with their detailed map of the park.
Throughout the park, there are even runners showers for when you need to cool off, picnic tables for a meal in the park, several picturesque bridges if you want to stop and take a sweaty photoshoot, and a playground for the youngins to let loose on.
Terry Hershey Park is open from 7 am to 10 pm every day, making for the perfect spot for a cool morning run or an evening walk with friends. And if you're running at night, take the Blue Trail or Cardinal Trail 7 for the safest and lit-up path.
So whether you live near the park and need a go-to spot or want to stop by next time you're in the area, Terry Hershey Park is the perfect spot for a walk in the park!
