Cones filled with deliciously cold and refreshing ice cream are perfect for cooling off in the summer heat. And while waffle cones and bubble cones are amazingly tasty, a cone baked out of a flaky croissant might just make your summer treat wildly better. The Dough Cone in Houston makes an amazing cone and fills it up to the very tippy-top with ice cream, sprinkles, and drizzles.
The cones are made from scratch every day; baked, rolled in brown sugar, and lined with things like Nutella or cookie butter. Their tasty ice cream is vegan and they have unlimited delicious toppings. Some of those toppings include fresh fruit, roasted marshmallows, chocolate covered pretzels, cookies, and much more. If you're not feeling one of their cones, they also offer their yummy treats in a cup or even in a sundae form.
To spice up your day, the shop also offers a Hot Cheetos and Takis version on their cone but instead of ice cream, it's filled with fried onions and queso. On special occasions and holidays, they'll have limited edition treats to celebrate. Because the food truck gives them the ability to move around, they always pop up at Houston's favorite food festivals.
The wildly loaded frozen treats go for about $5 to $7 depending on what you happen to be getting at the time. The shop is only opened on weekend from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Fridays and from 10:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Currently, the truck is stationed at 105 Sabine Street in Houston, Texas. To keep up with the truck and to see what special treats they're whipping up, you can visit their Facebook page here.
