The San Antonio River Walk is iconic for a number of reasons, so many that we've lost track. Now, we're adding yet another reason to the list with San Antonios Haunted River event that's coming up. If you're looking to be scared out of your mind, win $1,500 from a costume contest, and chow down on delicious food, then the San Antonio River Walk is the place for you to be this October!
While many may not associate the river walk with spookiness, their event, Haunted River, is back again on Friday, Oct. 25 to change people's minds forever. Not only will there be tons to do and see, but the event is entirely free! From 6 to 10:30 p.m., you can celebrate Halloween before it's even here in true San Antonio fashion. Go big or go home, am I right?
On this night, the Arneson River Theatre will be home to live music, dancing, an adult costume contest, a haunted river parade, and more. For the kids, there'll even be some super sweet trick or treating! But hey, adults are more than welcome.
The River Walk puts on plenty of fun events around the year, but the Haunted River brings in hundreds of people from all over every year. They have the full schedule of when each activity for the night is taking place on their website, so be sure to check it out before you arrive!
Garcia Concessions will be there serving Aguas Frescas, lemonade, nachos, corn in a cup, fruit cups, turkey legs, and more. Yum! The only thing scarier than all the costumes is how much we're going to eat!
If you're looking for other amazingly fun things to do in Texas this fall season, there's tons to do and plenty of time to plan! We can hardly wait for October.
Cuisine: Food trucks
Address: Arneson River Theatre in La Villita, 418 Villita St. 78205
Why you need to go: This FREE event is unlike any other, and just what San Antonians needed this spooky season. Haunted Houses are cool, but costume contests and photo booths on the river walk are cooler.
