San Antonio Is Hosting An Asian-Inspired Parade Of Lanterns On The River This Winter
It's gonna be so magical!
We may still be in the process of saying goodbye to the year 2019, but 2020 also promises to be a year of incredible experiences in the River City. San Antonio is hosting a huge floating lantern parade soon and it will be magical. Mark your calendars now so you won't miss it!
There is no doubt that the San Antonio River Walk is a city staple. Tourists and locals alike enjoy its magical boat rides, restaurants, experiences, and events. That's not going to change in 2020.
During two whole weeks, the place will be filled with the lights of giant luminous lanterns. This event will be free every night.
From January 25 and until February 8, ten river floats will glide down the river carrying Asian-inspired giant lanterns. They will appear every night anywhere along the Downtown part of the River Walk.
On the page's gallery, there's a map where you can check the designated route (marked with black arrows).
That way you can enjoy the parade from your favorite restaurant patio, and enjoy dinner with drinks while you amuse yourself with the lanterns.
The lanterns are extremely colorful and beautiful. Huge flowers, pandas, dragons, mushrooms, pinatas, and other motives will be twinkling from the water from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
As the floats move, Asian-inspired soft music will be playing from them.
The San Antonio River Walk hosted anotherlast summer, but this one is completely different.
You must take into consideration that weather conditions may prevent floats from running on any night.
That's why organizers encourage people to monitor their social media pages, they will be posting notices in the event floats will not run on a night.
There may be abrupt changes in the schedule they might not be able to predict or provide notification for as well.
