The Canadian winter is both a brutal and beautiful time of year. Maligne Canyon is located within the stunning Jasper Park in Alberta which is just a 4-hour drive from Edmonton. Sun Dog Tours offers an amazing Maligne Canyon Icewalk that allows you to explore this unreal natural spot during the winter months! 

The tour guide will take you along a 3.5 km trail to the bottom of the canyon where you can explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and crazy ice formations! The trek is mostly downhill which is great for anyone who isn't ready for an intense hike but still wants to appreciate the beauty of this spot.

If you're visiting Jasper for a vacation Sun Dog Tours will pick you up and drop you off from any accommodation in the area. They also provide warm boots with ice cleats for the tour so you can easily hike through the icier parts of the trail! 

The tours usually take 3-3.5 hours to complete so make sure you block off enough time! The tour runs at multiple times during the day starting at 9:30 am, 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. It costs $69 for adults and $35 for kids aged 6-12.
