This 3.5 Km Winter Trail Will Take You Past Frozen Waterfalls And Canyons In Canada
The Canadian winter is both a brutal and beautiful time of year. It can bring endless days of snowstorms, freezing temperatures, and icy sidewalks that make us long for the days of sunshine during the summer months. But there's something about the wintertime in Canada that is incredibly beautiful at the same time!
If you love all the beauty winter brings to this great country of ours, I highly recommend heading out to Maligne Canyon in Alberta to experience one of the most magical winter tours in the country!
Maligne Canyon is located within the stunning Jasper Park in Alberta which is just a 4-hour drive from Edmonton. Sun Dog Tours offers an amazing Maligne Canyon Icewalk that allows you to explore this unreal natural spot during the winter months!
The tour guide will take you along a 3.5 km trail to the bottom of the canyon where you can explore frozen waterfalls, ice caves, and crazy ice formations! The trek is mostly downhill which is great for anyone who isn't ready for an intense hike but still wants to appreciate the beauty of this spot.
If you're visiting Jasper for a vacation Sun Dog Tours will pick you up and drop you off from any accommodation in the area. They also provide warm boots with ice cleats for the tour so you can easily hike through the icier parts of the trail!
The tours usually take 3-3.5 hours to complete so make sure you block off enough time! The tour runs at multiple times during the day starting at 9:30 am, 1:30 pm and 6:30 pm. It costs $69 for adults and $35 for kids aged 6-12.
