Castles are a work of art; unfortunately, none of us were alive when they were actually a reg thing here in the US. We are lucky enough to explore some that are still standing today. Those that are traveling to North Carolina are even luckier because they can stay in an actual castle that is beautiful and ginormous. This Airbnb in North Carolina is not only affordable but probably one of the coolest you'll ever stay in.

The Real-Life Castle in the Sky (Smithmore Castle) is located in North Carolina, near Spruce Pine, and is one of the state's best-kept secrets. This thing looks like it is straight out of a fairytale and you and five of your friends can feel like royalty for a few nights.

To make things even more exciting, the castle is located on top of English Knob and sits on 103 private acres so you'll really feel like you are someone important.

Before even entering the house, you'll have incredible views of Mount Mitchell, Toe River Valley, Eastern Continental Divide, and many mountain ranges.

Smithmore Castle has six bedrooms with seven beds and nine bathrooms. If you are having a girl's getaway trip, you can all literally have your own bathroom, which doesn't happen often. There are also 11,000 square feet of living space (so much room for activities).

Along with all of those great features, there is also a gym, a hot tub, an indoor fireplace, a full kitchen, and even a full bar. The decor in the castle matches the Renaissance theme which is both unique and pretty awesome to experience.

You and 13 of your closest friends can stay here and only pay $120 each per night, which is insane. There is a three-day minimum, but you'll want to stay that long to really explore the grounds and the castle.

There are so many cool Airbnb's in North Carolina, you just have to find them like this silver glamper that is totally affordable and located right in the mountains and this private treehouse that is dreamy and secluded
