This Botanical Oasis In Calgary Has To Be On Your Bucket List This Spring

After a long snowy winter in Calgary, it's refreshing to escape to a verdant garden and be reminded of all the shades of green that exist in nature! The Devonian Gardens in Downtown Calgary are a botanical dream come true for anyone who feels like escaping reality, even if it's just for an afternoon.Â
Devonian Gardens were closed on and off for almost 10 years for renovations, but luckily now they're open for the public. They're offering a tropical-inspired escape for free! This is the perfect place to hang out with friends and take photos, to go for a walk without your winter parka!
This is no trinkety plant display. The Devonian Gardens is one hectare in size and has a giant living wall, over 500 trees and dozens of plant varieties. The park is really spacious and you can totally walk around and explore. Plus, there's a koi pond! Just don't pull a Michael Scott à la The Office and fall in.Â
