This Georgia Historic Park Will Make You Feel Like You Are In A Fairytale Forest

In pictures of Georgia, you always see those big oak trees covered in Spanish moss, but have you ever been able to see them in person? This Savannah Estate is surrounded by them and it will make you feel like you are in a fairytale forest.

The Wormsloe Estate is the oldest standing structure in Savannah, Georgia, but it is in ruins now and not so much a large, gorgeous home. It was built in the 1700s, so it is impressive that some of it is still standing.

From the arched entryway to the ruins of the estate, you have so much to see when you visit this historical location.

As you enter onto the property, you will be greeted by a long road of canopy trees with moss hanging down to make it look like you are walking into a fantasy.

You can get out of your car to take pictures, because we know you will be dying to, and then you will actually drive this mile-long road to the site.

You might think your views stop here, but there is more to this adventure. It is free to just take pictures and see the moss covered trees, but as you drive down to the ruins, you will have to pay a $10 fee to enter the site.

As you get to the estate, there is a museum that you can go into to learn more about the history of the property.

Your admission fee also grants you access to the nature trail where you can see part what used to be on this estate, gravesites, and walk along the marsh that is there.

Many reviews say that it is a great adventure for a summer day and that the site is worth every penny.

From being able to drive down and see the 400, picture-perfect trees, to the museum and the many trails you can walk, the Wormsloe Historic Site has something for everyone.

You can visit from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
