This Forest Outside Of Toronto Is Filled With Super Bizarre Secret Art

Now this is not your average walk in the woods. There is a whimsical art gallery hidden deep within this forest in Gravenhurst, Ontario and you’re going to want to canvas the whole area. So come on, let’s paint the town.

This secret gem is roughly two hours from Toronto, making it a pretty easy day trip destination.

You’ll find all kinds of unique art installations strewn throughout the 200-acre wooded area.

Including an outhouse that’s made from reflective material so you can finally take those fire mirror selfies outdoors.

There’s also an eerie set of waving hands, a pile of abandoned cars, various sculptures, and so much more.

Now, the walk from the parking lot to the first art installation is about one kilometre, but don’t worry.

There are plenty of signs and information to help you out on your self-guided tour.

At the time of writing The Tree Museum is temporarily closed, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for updates on their website.

Typically the museum is open daily from May to October and admission is totally free.

So if you’ve been daydreaming about future summer activities, be sure to add this spot to your bucket list.

You’re going to want to come prepared with good boots and lots of water as the path is uneven and long.

White and blue markers will guide you to the different sites, but you should be ready to climb over rocks and trees to see some of the art pieces.

Some of the art has been around since 1998, including a dancing skeleton carved in rock and the mound of abandoned cars.

If you happen to visit this spot during the summer months, be warned, the mosquitos and black flies can get pretty heavy in this area.

According to the museum's website, early May and late October are some of the best times to go.

You can find a full list of exhibits on the museum's website, or simply show up and follow the signs for a fun day of discovery.
