This Hidden Speakeasy In Tennessee Used To Be A Library Behind This Hotel

Going to your favorite bar on the weekends is always going to be a good time, but finding a new, hidden bar might be even more enjoyable. Speakeasies are just so mysterious that they make you want to go back again and again. This hidden speakeasy in Tennessee is fun to search for, and experience.

Peter Kern Library in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee is tucked behind The Oliver Hotel. The only way you'll know you're at the right place is by spotting the red light at the top of the door. You get to adventure around to try and find this place, so you get a fun experience even before you get there. This is just another one of Knoxville's best adventurous spots

The bar is accessible by walking down this long, dark alley. The door is black, so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. The other way to enter the bar is through a sliding door in the lobby for guests staying in the hotel.

This speakeasy used to be a library in the hotel, however, for six years it has been serving up some of the best gin and absinthe in the city. All of the drinks are named after literary characters like their Holly Golightly and Roland Deschain.

The atmosphere is that of an actual library, so you will feel like you aren't even in a bar. The menus are in old World Book Encyclopedias so you can trick your friends into thinking you're actually reading an encyclopedia.

The lights are dimmed and there is soft music playing in the Library which makes for a relaxing evening. Even the bartenders are dressed to the nines and to match an older time period.

The best part is, you can actually tell your parents that you went to the library during the school week and they wouldn't ask any questions.

For a little adventure, you should head to the Memphis Zoo this holiday season to view some of the coolest and most festive Christmas lights in the state.
