This Hotel Serves 10-Pound Donuts And We Can't Even
One international hotel chain has just taken hotel room service to the next level.
No, they haven't amped up on their cleaning services, polite staff or general amenities. They're delivering 10-pound donuts straight to your hotel room door.
The colourful confection is three feet wide and one foot tall. And just in case 10 pounds of sugar isn't enough for you, it's also served with a set of milkshakes for dipping.
The top is coated with bright pink fondant, cream-based frosting, and multi-coloured jimmies. And according to Food Beast, who tried out the dessert, it contains "layers of Tahitian vanilla cake, cream, and raspberry jelly infused on the inside."
The comically large dessert is part of JW Marriott Desert Springs' "Donut Disturb Package", which, for the reasonable price of $219, includes the giant pink donut and $50 of room credit to be used at the spa, golf course or hotel dining.
Guests who opt-in to this offer get a "Donut Disturb" door hanger, and when your sugar cravings kick in, you simply hang it on the outside of your hotel door. In a few moments, you'll have a 10-pound donut rolled in by cart to either a) do the reasonable thing and share it with five friends or b) stuff your face and share it with no one.
The package - valid 7 days a week until April 30 2018 - is currently only available at JW Marriot's Palm Desert, but here's to hoping other hotels start following suit soon.
