You'd think Carrie Bradshaw the fashionista would be the one to launch a clothing line for "Sex And The City's" 20th anniversary. But surprisingly, it was all Miranda's idea - or rather, Cynthia Nixon's.
Yesterday, Cynthia announced a brand new line of t-shirts, hats and tote bags to support her ongoing political campaign to become the next governor of New York. To honour the show's anniversary, Cynthia's merch makes clever references to her character on the show.
"In honor of #SATC20, we just launched a line of Miranda merchandise," Cynthia shared on Instagram, "Because, well, we should all be Mirandas who vote for Cynthia."
Like Miranda, Cynthia's a true New Yorker. She announced that she was running for the city's governor role in March. "New York is my home," she says in her campaign video, "New York is where I was raised and where I'm raising my kids. I'm a proud public school graduate and a proud public school parent.
Cynthia's line features crewneck tees which say, "I'm a Miranda and I'm voting for Cynthia" in red, white and blue letters. The t-shirts come in black and white, are available online for $35 USD. You can also get the same cute statement on a canvas tote bag for $30 USD.
Cynthia's collection also includes a t-shirt for toddlers which reads, "I'm a Miranda," with Miranda crossed out, and "Future Governor of New York" printed underneath.
Are you a Miranda voting for Cynthia? In honor of #SATC20, here's a line of Miranda merchandise designed by the team behind the "Every Outfit on Sex and the City" Instagram account... because, well, we should all be Mirandas who vote for Cynthia. Or for $38, you can rock a navy blue Cynthia Nixon baseball cap. The cap has "I'm a Miranda" stitched on the front, with "Miranda" crossed out and a red "Governor" label slapped over it.
We may not be able to vote for her, but we'll order a t-shirt anyway!
