Here's to the women that changed everything.
Time Announced 'The Silence Breakers' As Person Of The Year

Time magazine just announced their Person of The Year - and no, it's not the shrivelled Cheeto that is Donald Trump. The publication featured the first brave women who came forward about sexual assault as their cover stars, namely Rose McGowan, Ashley Judd and Taylor Swift.

These women all publicly broke the silence that once protected their accusers. Some, like Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan, went up against one of the most powerful men in Hollywood - a shell of his former reputation, Harvey Weinstein. Others, like Taylor Swift, fought faceless, nameless men who thought they had a right to women's bodies. Swift herself sued a 'fan' that groped her backside during a photo; she won, leaving her attacker without a job, a reputation, and famously one less dollar.

It truly was McGowan and Judd that set the ball rolling in Hollywood, allowing for predators such as Weinstein, Spacey, and Lauer to be prosecuted, terminated and reprimanded for their crimes. It is their voices that increased the volume of so many women who had faced similar attacks and injustices.

Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal had this to say, "The voices that launched a movement. This is the fastest moving social change we’ve seen in decades. And it began with individual acts of courage by hundreds of women — and men too — who came forward to tell their own stories of sexual harassment and assault."
