Anna Cathcart Confirms New Film Locations For "To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before" 3

Fans of the rom-com can rejoice because the third film is coming soon and will totally satisfy your love for cheesy romance. The first movie in the series was so much of a hit that the two sequels were filmed back-to-back in Canada. In an exclusive interview with Narcity, the To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 star Anna Cathcart confirmed that the third upcoming movie was shot in two new cities!
The 16-year-old actress was born and raised in Vancouver and got her television start in 2016.
Her breakout role as Kitty in the 2018 film was only the beginning of the movie franchise based on Jenny Han's best-selling novels.
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You is set to premiere next week, and the third movie, which Cathcart claims was filmed right after the second, doesn't yet have a release date.
The actress shared that the third movie was filmed partially in Vancouver.
“We filmed in a bunch of places so we did film in Vancouver [and] it was filmed in New York and Seoul in Korea which was really cool,” Cathcart told Narcity. “We were there for two weeks and I’ve been to Asia before but I’ve never been to Korea so that was a really cool experience. Just like shooting somewhere that’s foreign and different from where I’m used to was such a cool experience.”
This is the first time the movie will change locations from Portland to another country. The characters are Korean so this could mean they’re going back to their roots.
Cathcart confirmed to Narcity that the first two movies were produced in Vancouver and Fort Langley, as well as other parts of B.C.
She shared that it was super convenient filming in her hometown where she could go home to her own bed after a long day of shooting.
For her role as Lara Jean's younger sister, Cathcart said that "I shot a lot at the house which was in Langley so that’s definitely very memorable.”
She also shared that on her days off, she loved to show her castmates around her hometown, Vancouver. She’s taken them to all of her favourite places around the city and even invited them over for BBQ at her family’s home.
When the cast was back together on screen for the second movie, Cathcart shared with Narcity that they "shot in Fort Langley which I had never been to before. And it was so cute, a little town and all the shops were adorable, a candy store, and [Wendel’s] book store [and coffee shop]."
As the movie franchise gains more fame, the actress noted that she's frequently getting recognized on the streets and has even "had people fall over when they see me, out of love and excitement."
Though acting is her passion, the 16-year-old is still in a regular high school where "people know me as Anna Cathcart but also just like Anna from school, so it’s been interesting to watch those worlds collide."
In 2019, IMDb notes that Cathcart got the starring role in Zoe Valentine, played Zoe in the family movie Spring Breakaway and was Dizzy Tremaine in Descendants 3.
You can catch the Vancouver-born actress in To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You on February 12. Check out the trailer below!
