As we gear up for To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, the cast has been pumping up viewers about what's to come. The film's star recently shared that in addition to her on-screen love triangle, there's another part she has in mind. To All the Boys' Lana Condor wants to play the role of Sandra Oh's daughter and we're totally here for it.
In a recent interview with Variety, the 22-year-old was asked about the parts she's been seeking since production on both sequels completed. When questioned about roles she's been "dying to play", Condor responded, "I would love to play Sandra Oh’s daughter. I’ve been trying to manifest this for a while now."
Unfortunately, when asked if she's ever met the Grey's Anatomy alum, she said, "Oh man, I have not, but I’m going to believe it will happen!"
Both actresses' eccentric personalities would be fun to watch on screen together. Oh's parents are Korean and she was born and raised in Ottawa according to IMDb. Variety claims Condor was born in Vietnam and adopted by an American couple.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Condor shared how special it was to portray the half-Korean character, Lara Jean. She said, "As a young girl, I never got to see a Cinderella moment where the girl looked like me. This is the most important part of the story for me is being able to represent our community. It’s creating a space for Asian Americans to tell their story and have a moment."
In fact, in an exclusive interview with Narcity, Condor's on-screen younger sister Anna Cathcart shared that the third movie was filmed in Korea for two weeks. Hopefully, that means the movie showed them exploring their roots!
Since the first film in the franchise premiered on Netflix in 2018, Condor has picked up quite a few roles including playing Saya Kuroki on the TV Series Deadly Class. She also had voice roles on BoJack Horseman and Rilakkuma and Kaoru. Her IMDb notes that her next upcoming project is in a comedy called Girls Night.
Oh has kept herself pretty busy since leaving her role as Cristina Yang in 2014. She currently plays Eve Polastri in Killing Eve, appeared on the series American Crime, and voiced a few episodes of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. On her IMDb page, she has an upcoming voice role on Invincible.
We'll just be waiting here fingers crossed for Hollywood to create something for the actresses to star in together. In the meantime, you can catch Condor in To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You premiering on Netflix Canada on February 12.
