There's no better form of exercise than to have an enjoyable bike ride on a beautiful day in the city. Toronto has many bike paths for you to explore and get your cycling game on point.
Regardless of where you are located in the GTA, there are certain trails every biker should try out at least once. Even if you're not a dedicated cyclist, why not go on a bike ride to enjoy the beautiful views our city has to offer?
Here's a list of 10 amazing bike paths you must ride in Toronto:
Waterfront Trails
The waterfront trails are divided into 3 sections:
1. Etobicoke West
This trail follows Lakeshore Blvd for 2 km. It begins at Royal York and carries on to Parklawn Road. Many people will continue their biking journey across the Humber Bay Arch bridge to reach the Toronto Central bike trail.

2. Toronto Central
The Toronto Central trail is one of the most popular choices to bike for many Torontonians. Bikers have their own asphalt path, while pedestrians take a stroll along the board walk. If you're interested in taking a quick break, relax on Sunny Side Beach or grab a bite at Sunny Side Pavilion . This trail continues all the way to the Harbour Front along Queen’s Quay, but it is currently under construction. There are alternative detour routes at the moment for bikers who would like to continue their trip to Woodbine Beach.
3. Scarborough
This trail along the waterfront is a mix of off road paths and on road sections. The Scarborough trail eventually will lead you to The Bluffs, a path that is worth traveling to but keep in mind this section of the waterfront trail is very hilly and bumpy.
4. Toronto Islands
The Toronto Island is a short ferry ride from the city. The bike path on the island is a beautiful trail to explore. Ride around the island and enjoy the breathtaking Toronto skyline. Avoid this trail during the weekends because the tourists may get in your way, but during the week there's enough room to get around.
5. High Park
If you enjoy nature rides, High park is the perfect place to go. It's one of the biggest parks in the city with off trail roads, paved walkways and a wooden board walk to explore this beautiful area.
6. Wilket Creek Park
This 44 hectare park has a bike trail that is over 2km long. The Toronto Botanical Garden is along the way for you to check out during your trip. The path will eventually lead to the Tommy Thompson trail.

8. Don Valley Trails
The Don Valley trail is mostly made off road paths and dusty trails. The trail is about 10 km long and goes through a variety of parks to explore. The Waterfront path connects to this trail from the lakeside.
9. Crothers Woods
Crotherd Woods offers 52 hectares of land to bike through. Many cyclists are fond of this trail because it has breathtaking forestry and is the home to many birds species.
10. Taylor Creek
This bike trail begins at Low Don and continues southeast towards Victoria Park. Many bikers enjoy this path because it is considered one of the least populated trails to enjoy for a bike ride. Explore the rustic trails through the mature forest, leading to the Forks of the Don River.
