10 Incredible Toronto Pride Events You Have To Check Out This Month

It's pride month in Toronto and that means it's time to start celebrating and a chance to check out all the events and parties being put on in celebration of pride in Toronto. 

Naturally there are a ton of events being staged over the course of this month by Toronto's Pride organization, too many to count really.  

So here's our picks for the top 10 must attend events over the course of the next month.   

10. AGO First Thursdays 
Date: 7:00-11:30 p.m. June 7
Location: The AGO

For one Thursday night Pride will be taking over the AGO to throw a massive party. According to its website Pride will be filling the gallery with music, dance, stories and art. There will even be a 19+ cash bar.

9. Showtunes Karaoke 

Date: 8:00 p.m., June 11
Location: 51 Mercer St

If you've ever wanted to let out your inner Broadway star this is a can't miss event for you. And unlike regular Karaoke were you just sing along to a backing track here you'll have the chance to sing in with A LIVE BAND.

8. Cabana Pool Party

Date: 6:00-11:00 p.m., June 14
Location: 11 Polson St

This is your chance to hang out in a pool with jaw dropping views of the Toronto skyline in the background for all your Instagram needs. There will obviously be some amazing cocktails there as well!

7. Friday Night Live at the ROM 

Date: 7:00 p.m. - Midnight June 15
Location: The ROM

The ROM will also be throwing a party in honour of Pride. Pride's website promises "DJs, Drag Queens, Performers, and Artists… all blended bodaciously with yummy pop-up food vendors, drinks, and access to the ROM’s glittering galleries"

6. Gay Day Goes Wet ‘n’ Wild
Date: June 16
Location: Wet 'n' Wild, 7855 Finch Ave W. Brampton

A little bit off the board with this one because it's in Brampton instead of downtown Toronto. But as Pride says "Pride Month has become an annual staple in on the Toronto calendar, we have the absolute pleasure of extending our programming to include even more groups and communities."

This will be an all day event held at Wet 'n' Wild and since it's on a Saturday you're more than welcome to take a day trip there.

5.  Toronto Island Party

Date: 1:00-9:00 p.m., June 17
Location: Gibraltar Point, Toronto Islands

This is an all-day dance party and celebration happening at Gibraltar Point. You can even get a chartered ferry to the event.

There will be "DJs spinning happy, sunshine-y house, some retro music retro, performances, cocktails – including specialty concoctions from our pals at Sauza Tequila – and art installations."

You're also asked to bring your bathing suit. Tickets are on Pride's website.

4. Aids Candlelight Vigil

Date: 9:00 p.m. June 19
Location: Barbara Hall Park

While Pride is mainly a month of celebration its also a chance to reflect on the members of the community who have lost their lives over the years or been affected by HIV/AIDS.

"They were fighters, advocates, supporters, caregivers, researchers, and lovers," says Pride Toronto's website.

3. Night at the Aqueerium 

Date: 8:00 - Midnight, June 22
Location: Ripley's Aquarium

Ripley's Aquarium will also be getting in on the pride celebrations this year with the perfectly named Night at the Aqueerium.

There will be DJ's, drag queens, refreshments, and a photo booth!

2. Street Fair

Date: June 22 - June 24
Location: Multiple Locations

Via Pride Toronto

The annual Pride street fair will be back and bigger than ever.

The street fair will be set up along multiple streets in downtown Toronto, including Church, Wellesley, and Alexander streets. As well as a new extension from Carlton to Dundas Street.

The fair is a chance to see local organizations, artisans, and businesses offering a wide range of products for sale.

1. The Pride Parade  

Date: 2:00 p.m. June 24
Location: Parade starts at the corner of Bloor and Church Streets.

Yes the most recognizable event of the whole month is the Pride Parade through downtown Toronto. With more than 120 groups marching in Pride Toronto’s Pride Parade this year its one of the largest in North America.

There will be all sorts of floats and groups to see so be sure to mark it on you calendar.
