1. Pull out your suave, artistic side for a day and head to the Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre at the Tett Centre.

Right along the shores of Lake Ontario not only sits the Tett Centre, holding a community gathering spot for local artists but also a very suave gallery for you and your bae to bond over - it's Modern Fuel. Right now they're featuring an exhibit by Jay White, whose work just so happens to be internationally acclaimed and has even been on the long list entry for an Academy Awards nomination. Take in this fresh exhibit while finding a new ~passion~ with your number one. Why not top it off with a glass of vino at the serene Juniper Cafe after? Sounds like an artistic day to us.

Jay White's exhibit, Traveller, is running from January 7th to February 18th!

2. Nerd out together with Trivia night at The Brooklyn!

Ever since the Brooklyn came to the 613 their cool indie atmosphere and unreal craft beer scene has made it a staple in town. What really brings them up a level is their hilarious events that take place every week, from live music to MOD club - every night brings a new twist. One of our favourite for couples? Trivia night (sh*t, did the title give it away?). It's teams of 6, so it's the ideal spot for hilarious group dates that'll definitely bring any couple out of an ordinary routine or new couples who are still in the ~awkward/getting to know you/ya I'm cool and chill~ phase. The doors open at 8, trivia starts at 9 and your choice of some of the finest craft beer around?

Yes and yes.

3. Take a long romantic stroll (that doesn't resemble a dating site profile pick up line) at Lemoine Point Nature Trail.

Whether you take a stroll, a walk, a jog, a skip or even a shuffle with your bae down this path one thing will stay the same, the beauty of it. Coming straight from Mother Nature the Lemoine Point Nature Trail is a magnificent place to go with your beau for a date that seems like it's out of a rom-com (the good kind obviously). There are over 2500 metres of shoreline and over 11km of hiking trails (low level don't worry Netflix couples), so you have plenty of ways to spend the day getting even closer with your favourite person in not only a new environment but the legit environment.

4. Food really is the way to your baes heart, get there together and take a cooking class at Riva Restaurant!

Ah yes finally! You and your date get to turn into a slight variation of Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze on the iconic pottery scene in Ghost. You, you're significant other, crafting a work of art together, and even better? That piece of art is some gourmet food to ~gracefully~ muck after. Riva is one of the most coveted foodie destinations in Kingston for their divine combination of Italy and the local flavours of the 1000 Islands; wooden beams cover the ceilings while exposed brick fireplace turns up the heat an extra notch. And the magic all comes from the kitchen where you two will spend a great evening mastering the art of the modern Italian food they serve. Some class examples include wine and cheese, bread 101, pasta 101 - oh you already bought your tickets? Guess we'll see you both at the 3-course dinner that follows.

Check out the schedule and secure your spot here.

7. Skate the night away at Market Square and warm up with some delicious coffee from CoffeeCo after for the essential winter date.

The quintessential winter date is skating with some hot chocolate, but what makes this one even better is first, it's you two (adding the fire to this picture), and second? The beautiful backdrop of the epicentre of Kingston behind you as you skate around the picturesque market square. As for the hot chocolate, head to the charming wholesale fair trade organic coffee shop that not only has fresh espressos for you to savour but some sweet treats to indulge in together. Could this date sound anymore Nicholas Sparks? What an Insta moment am I right or am I right.

8. Watch the hilarious scene/social phenomenon that is Bachelor Monday's at Queen's Pub!

Don't lie, we all know you both secretly adore this "reality" TV show. Sure, watching other people try and find love may sound like an odd way to get closer to your number one, but think about it. You get all the drinks and comforting eats at the Queen's Pub you'd get on a regular date, but with the added bonus of being surrounded by a social setting you'll be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Tables of screaming girls (and lots of guys, believe us), all cheering for their favourite contestant make for a hilarious night. The comedic aspect of the actual show is something you can both bond over, and because we know you're secretly a super fan at heart, you two can cheer on your favourites along with a sea of other fans. They'll be laughs, tears, and romance - and we're not just talking about the show. Get there early because they often hit cap right when the show starts at 8pm!
