11 Emotional PostSecrets About Mental Health

Mental health illness is something that has touched the lives of many Canadians. In fact, 1 out of 5 Canadians will suffer from mental illness, and many will suffer in silence. This silence is in part due to the stigma that surrounds mental health. At Narcity, we are committed to ending that stigma and helping raise awareness in regards to this important issue.

Even with many people sharing their struggles and talking about mental wellness more and more often, it is still difficult for many of us to share our own stories. This is why the PostSecret project, where people mail in their secrets on postcards, has gained such success. It acts as a liberating tool that allows people to finally let go of the secrets that have perhaps been weighing them down for so long.

While PostSecrets range in topics, style, and tone, the theme featured in this article is simple: mental health. The triumphs, the heartbreaks, and the struggles featured in these secrets are meant to help people realize that it's okay not to be okay.?
