There are many mouth-watering ice cream parlors outside of the city that are worth taking a road trip to. Several of these places are unknown to Torontonians but we cannot deny they have uh-mazing ice cream. Toronto has an endless amount of gourmet ice creams shops, but there are some cafes and speciality stores that serve ice cream that is to die for outside of the city and we think you should visit them ASAP.

1. Tom's Dairy Freeze // 630 The Queensway, Etobicoke
Tom's Dairy has been serving irresistible ice cream since 1969. They have flavourful soft serve ice cream and a countless amount of hard serve ice creams. Many people from all over the GTA make a trip to Etobicoke just to try Tom's homemade goodies. Place your order at their low front window, take a seat at one of their picnic tables in front of the shop and enjoy delectable ice cream.
2. The Big Chill // 566 College Street, Little Italy
This retro ice cream shop located in Little Italy, brings a lot of happiness to many visitors. At the Big Chill you can become creative with your ice cream, with over 30 savors to choose from and experiment with a variety of flavours to satisfy your taste buds. This ice cream parlour has a colourful design giving a 70's look to it, with the checkered floors and funky interior design.
3. Ice Cream Soda Shop // 3131 Muskoka District Road 169
A trip to Muskoka is totally worth it just to check out Ice Cream Soda Shop. This parlour has a great ice cream selection, frozen yogurt, homemade ice creams cakes and special ice cream pies. The homey-like shop has a welcoming environment that is always excited to serve customers!

4. Hollywood Cone // 1 Simcoe St.N, Oshawa
Take a trip to Oshawa and try one of the GTA's best ice creams from The Hollywood Cone Ice Cream truck! You can add special additions such as donuts, cookies, cup cakes, funnel cakes, pretzels and several other ingredients to top off your ice cream! We're drooling just thinking of this place...
5. Ed's Real Scoop // 2224 Queen St. East, The Beaches.
There are several locations for Ed's Real Scoop around the GTA but you must check out their parlour in the Beaches. They offer a huge selection of ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt and other frozen goodies with a mix of unique flavours combined with some of the staples.
6. Dairee Delite // 10 King George Rd, Brantford
Dairee Delite is a must visit ice cream parlour in Brantford, Ontario. They have been open for over 60 years, serving top notch ice cream cones, banana splits, strawberry shortcakes. This cute retro parlor is known for its "delites" which include hot fudge brownies, peanut butter, twists and turtles served with ice cream.
7. Twins Ice Cream Parlour // 1028 Bay Street, Port Rowan.
This cute little ice cream shop has been in buisness since 1993. The road trip to Southern Ontario Port Rowan is totally worth it to try their home made ice cream and waffle cones! Grab a mouth-watering ice cream and take a stroll around Port Rowan, in the lakeside community on the shores of Lake Erie. You must try their maple hot fudge sundae!
8. Kawarthra Dairy Limited // 304 Toronto St S, Uxbridge
Kawarthra's headquarters is in Bobcaygeon, Ontario but there is a closer location to Toronto in Uxbridge. The authentic ice cream parlor has been in operation for over 75 years, with dairy products being supplied from local farms to make their homemade ice cream.

You won't regret the two hour drive from Toronto to Prince Edward County after you try Slickers ice cream. The flavorful, homemade ice cream will melt in your mouth and have you craving for more.

You haven't had real ice cream until you've tried Panini & Ice Cream sweets. This ice cream shop has every type of frozen goodie you could possible imagine of! They have plenty of extra ingredients you can top off your ice cream and shakes with, that will make you drooool.

This cute parlor in Unionville is known for serving premium ice cream flavors. They specialize in a different types of sweets but their ice cream is to die for. Old Fire Hall an endless amount of gourmet topping to add to your sweet goodie.
