Ontario has some of the best scenic nature you can find. And a lot of those places are serious hidden gems that most people would just have to miraculously stumble upon walking through one of the many stunning conservation areas we have in the province.
There's also no shortage of stunning waterfalls. In the city of Hamilton alone there's over 100! These 12 waterfalls need to be on your summer 2018 bucket list!

1. Bridal Veil Falls // Manitoulin Island
Perhaps one of the most popular waterfalls in Ontario, Bridal Veil Falls is where it's at. With a stunning cascade and warm shallow water, this is one place that you need to see to believe.
2. Chedoke Falls // Hamilton
With a beautiful turquoise pool below the waterfall, this breathtaking spot is perfect for those bikini insta pics. The 60-foot high drop is a real sight to see.
3. Decew Falls // St. Catharines
This waterfall is a serious marvel. The Upper Plunge is at an approximate 72 feet high, and the lower is a 25 feet steep cascade.
4. Boundary Falls // Hamilton
Boundary Falls is a 19 foot ribbon waterfall in Hamilton, the city of waterfalls. It's best scene after heavy rain because that's when the falls are in their full glory.
5. Paresseux Falls // Mattawa
This 20-30 foot waterfall can be heard before you even see it and is also called Lazyman Falls. Careful, the pools at the bottom are pretty deep.
6. Princess Falls // Hamilton
Another Hamilton waterfall perfect is Princess Falls. The ribbon falls are over 22-feet high, and are best scene after heavy rain so the cascade is strong.
7. Indian Falls // Owen Sound
The Indian Falls aren't as rushing as others. It's 45 feet high, and only takes 15 minutes to get to via a walk along the river.
8. High Falls // Bracebridge
It's a bit more of a hike to get to these falls but it's well worth it! The lake at the bottom of the small cascade is a beautiful blue hue.
9. Sauble Falls // Sauble Beach
Standing at only 10 feet, this smaller waterfall does not sacrifice beauty for height. It's low and wide and super close to the road for easy access.
10. Balls Falls // Niagara
There are two parts to Balls Falls. The upper classic plunge, which stands at over 80 feet, and the lower cascade at around 36 feet. The calm water below both the plunge and cascade is wonderful.
11. White's Falls // Port Severn
The waterflow to White's Falls is moderated by a damn, but that doesn't make this popular swimming spot any less spectacular.
12. MacKenzie Falls // Thunder Bay
This waterfall in Thunder Bay is super easy to hike to. It's pretty popular in the area, so expect to make some new friends while you're there!
