Summer is nearly here and soon we'll be hit with sweltering heat and sunshine! I know we're all super relieved to hear that, considering the long, chilling winter we experienced. Before long, we'll be wishing we had some cool relief from the summer heat that's coming.
The best way to cool off when the summer heat is beating down on us is to hang out in a refreshing pool and on beaches! There are tons of pools and beaches that offer perfect spots to chill out during hot summer months.
You may have heard of some of these already, but some of them you probably haven't. Check them out when the heat gets the better of you and you need a refreshing break!
Sunny Side Pavilion
Sunnyside Pavilion has been located in Toronto for over 100 years now and is one of our beloved landmarks. It's a super popular spot in the summer because of it's expansive sandy beach area and adjoining pool. You can also eat dinner or lunch at their restaurant!
Lavelle is a popular rooftop bar that's also home to a big pool perfect for summer days. You can grab a fruity cocktail and some snacks then swim and tan the day away!
Alexandra Park Pool
This is one of the best public pools in all of Toronto, located on the West End of the city. This refreshing pool is perfect to cool off on a hot summer day! You don't have to pay to enter and you can relax in the park as well.
Thompson Toronto is another one of this city's best rooftop bars. You can swim in their huge outdoor rooftop pools with a refreshing cocktail while you stare out at the beautiful views of the city skyline in front of you!
Hanlan's Point Beach
If you head over to the Toronto Islands, you'll find this fun beach. Here, you can choose to wear a bathing suit, or not, it's completely up to you! It's a cool place to check out on a hot summer day and go for a dip in the waters.
Sheraton Centre Hotel
Sheraton Centre Hotel has a gorgeous rooftop pool with tons of poolside seating secluded from bustling city life. You don't have to be a guest of the hotel to hang out at their pool; you can purchase a day pass to the pool for $30 or you can purchase a monthly membership to the pool and fitness facilities for $95/month.
Alex Duff Memorial Pool
The Alex Duff Memorial Pool is one of the best public pools in Toronto because of its 2-storey waterslide! You can hang out in the water and ride the slide all day long to bring out your inner child again.
If you want to relax on the sand this summer, Cherry Beach is a great option. It's full of fun water sports, cute dogs, and space to lounge out. Plus, you can take a dip in the refreshing water when you want to cool off.
Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pool
The Olympic Pool in The Beaches are a perfect spot to cool off on a sunny day. They have a huge adult pool plus a diving pool with a 5- and 10-metre diving platform! This is the ideal place to test your diving skills this summer.
Radisson Admiral Hotel
The Radisson has a great outdoor rooftop pool that's open to the public. If you're not a hotel guest, you can purchase a pool day pass for $45, that includes towel service and access to their showers and lockers.
Riverdale Park is definitely one of the best parks in Toronto to spend time at during the summer. The pool has a huge slide that's perfect for summer fun and crystal blue waters that are always clean and refreshing.
Fairmont Royal York
The Fairmont Royal York is the ideal spot to hang out during the summer. It has a 50-foot pool, a wading pool, a whirlpool, steam rooms, and saunas - so it's basically a spa! Unfortunately, this spot isn't the cheapest since it's reserved for hotel guests. You can purchase a half year membership to their health club for $800.
The Scarborough Bluffs are home to some of the most turquoise waters in the entire city! They have two different beach areas to lay out on, and you can take a refreshing dip whenever you get hot on a sunny day!
