You can tell a lot about a person by the Hogwarts House they're sorted into. Potterheads, you know what I'm talking about. And, being the true Potterheads that you are, you probably also know that the Sorting Hat quiz was recently revived on Pottermore and that it's the real deal because J.K. Rowling herself wrote it.

I've assigned various universities in Ontario representative Harry Potter characters before; but this time, I sorted Toronto celebrities and public figures into Harry Potter houses because... why not?

This is what I ended up with:

Honoured members of Gryffindor: Roz Weston, Melissa Grelo, Jus Reign, Lights

These individuals are known for their boldness and playful personalities; both of which are characteristic Gryffindor traits. Roz Weston of KiSS 92.5 has a tendency to have relatively blunt opinions. Melissa Grelo of The Social is the same way, as her career necessitates a strong point of view. Jus Reign and Lights have light-spirited personalities and live to entertain others around them. All in all, their extrovertedness, positivity and headstrong attitude make them perfect for the Gryffindor house.

Honoured members of Hufflepuff: Drake, Rachel McAdams, Shay Mitchell, Shawn Mendes

These individuals are known for being some of the most caring celebrities out there, and that soft-hearted nature is the mark of a Hufflepuff. Listen to one Drake or Shawn Mendes song and you'll immediately know that they care for you. Watch any interview with Rachel McAdams or Shay Mitchell and you'll see just how incredibly humble they are. All four of these celebrities are also involved in charity work - Drake with THORN, Rachel with Greenpeace, Shay with the Somaly Mam Foundation, and Shawn with the Salvation Army. They're always putting others before them, and that makes them Hufflepuffs for sure.

Honoured members of Ravenclaw: Margaret Atwood, John Tory, Lisa LaFlamme, Norm Kelly

These individuals are known to be some of the smartest and creative cookies in the jar, making them perfect for Ravenclaw. Margaret Atwood is one of the most brilliant minds in the literary world and holds multiple degrees. John Tory holds a Bachelor of Law from Osgoode Hall Law School (alongside his B.A. from UofT). Lisa LaFlamme of CTV News studied at UOttawa and works a career that's largely based on research and inquisitive thinking. Norm Kelly is a trained historian and spearheaded a research project for what became two of the best-selling Canadian history books. Smart and creative - they're Ravenclaws, alright.

Honoured members of Slytherin: Rob Ford, The Weeknd, Alessia Cara, Nina Dobrev

These individuals have a relentless drive and determination, which Slytherin members are also known to have. Although Rob Ford has had his share of controversies, he's still proven that he's an extremely hard worker (he also has an acid tongue, like some prominent Slytherins do). The Weeknd has climbed his way to the top, coming from the small town of Scarborough to being slotted to perform at the Oscars. Alessia Cara persevered past the YouTube fame and is now a rising star on the Toronto mainstream waves. Nina Dobrev has come a long way from her Vampire Diary days and is making her mark in movies (she's starring with Vin Diesel in a XXX sequel). Admittance into Slytherin necessitates greatness, and these four individuals are it.

Do you agree with my sorts? What would you change and who would you add into each of the houses? Leave a comment below!
