No matter how the relationship ended, it's hard getting over someone. You can't stop thinking about them. You can't stop stalking all their social media accounts. You panic when they follow a hot girl/guy on Instagram who isn't an import model or Instagram famous. Your friends tell you to unfollow them on social media and forget about them, but you just can't bring yourself to do it. We get it – it's difficult.

You're here because it's over and done and you know for a fact that you need to move on. You know you're not good for each other or you know it's just never going to work. Heartbreak sucks, but it's going to get easier with time. It takes time to heal, but there are also ways that can help you move on a little easier. Even if you don't think so, there are plenty of more fish in the sea and you will find the right person someday.

1. Clear your head at a Toronto Park

Surround yourself with the small amount of nature we have around the city. Nestle under a tree in Trinity Bellwoods or find a secluded spot in High Park. Read a book, take a nap, or just do anything that will keep you distracted for even a little while. Distractions will help you forget and nature will keep you at peace. And stay away from your phone, because you're just going to end up on your ex's Facebook profile again.

2. Spend a relaxing day at the Beaches.

Relaxing at home in bed will just keep you wallowing in your sad thoughts. Not to mention the fact that your ex was probably in your bed not too long ago. You need to get out and relax somewhere that isn't your house. Grab yourself an ice cream sammie at Moo Milk Bar and enjoy it on the warm sands of Lake Ontario. You don't even need to go with anyone. There's just something about staring out into the water that clears your mind and makes you forget about everything for even a moment.

3. Hit up the Entertainment District with your friends.

There's always something entertaining happening in the Entertainment District. It's pretty much the culture hub of Toronto and there's something for everyone to do. Whether it be a nice restaurant, a bar, a theatre, or even a Jays game, doing something fun and hanging out with your friends will help you forget about your ex. Remember that your friends will always be there for you.

4. Keep yourself busy with the hustle and bustle of things happening in and around Toronto.

The more you keep yourself busy, the more distracted you'll be, and the quicker you'll move on from your ex. Spend time by yourself, with friends, or with family, and you'll start to realize that your ex just doesn't belong in your life anymore. There is always something new and exciting happening in the city, and you just have to get out there to enjoy it. Check out the various cultural festivals happening at Harbourfront Centre, watch the buskers busker away at Buskerfest, or catch a flick at the TIFF festival coming up.

5. Get Tinder and go on Tinder dates in the city.

Toronto is the place to go on first dates (especially on Tinder dates). Whether you go to a bar or somewhere unconventional, meeting new people is always fun and a great way to help you forget about your ex. No, you're not rushing into something new. It's just Tinder and it's nothing serious. However, if you do meet someone cool, that's totally cool and you can take it from there. If you're heartless and you just want to go on dates for the sake of going on dates, you can take your dates to these places.
