The festival officially kicks off this week, meaning some of your favourite stars may already be in the city. For anyone hoping to catch a glimpse, here are some Toronto hot-spots where stars have been spotted in the past.

1. Princess of Wales Theatre

As one of the main festival locations, you can be sure to find celebrities in and around the red carpet at the Princess of Wales Theatre, located right on King St West. One celeb you'll be sure to find here is Drake, who'll be attending the Thursday premiere of Monsters And Men.

2. Elgin Theatre

Another obvious choice for spotting celebs is the Elgin Theatre on Yonge St. This is another main location for TIFF's Gala Screenings (AKA all the A-List films) so you can find stars like Ryan Gosling here on Monday night for the premium screening of First Man

3. Roy Thompson Hall

Another one of TIFF's main screening locations is Roy Thompson Hall, also on King St. A lot of the festival's hottest films will be shown here meaning you can catch a glimpse of so many stars like Riverdale's Lili Reinhart, who's film Galveston is showing on Friday, September 14.

4. The Ritz Carlton

If you don't get a chance to hit some red carpets there are some other places you could find stars throughout the city. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel has been a popular choice for TIFF stars in the past, with previous guests including Ryan Gosling and George Clooney.

5. Hooters

This may seem like an odd choice for star spotting, but it's actually located right around the corner from all the TIFF events and in previous years, Kristen Stewart, who is coming back to TIFF this year has been seen there enjoying some wings.

6. Soho House

If Hooters isn't quite classy enough for you, another hot-spot for celebrities is Soho House, a popular and exclusive club. Previously Emma Stone, Kristen Stewart, Ryan Gosling and Colin Firth have all been seen there but you may have to wait outside. Unfortunately, the club isn't open to the public.

7. Holt Renfrew

One of the best things for celebrities to do between film screenings is go shopping. Holt Renfrew, a super swanky department store at Yorkdale mall has been a popular spot for celebs like Penelope Cruz, who was spotted there previously and is coming back to TIFF this year!

As the city gears up for a couple weeks of star-studded affairs and amazing screenings, make sure you keep your eyes open for any celebrities making their way through town.
