Right now, there are a ton of Toronto-owned local businesses that need our help our GoFundMe. These businesses are calling on their communities to support them through tough times.
To make things easier for you, if you so choose to donate, we've rounded up a few that are particularly close to their fundraising goals. Maybe a few of your dollars will push them over the edge!
1. Crews & Tango
Address: 508 Church St, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $25,000.
Why you should donate: Crews & Tango has pledged the money that is being raised to help pay residual rent, hydro, staff, and other bills.
2. Trius + Aim
Address: 270 Brown's Line, Etobicoke, ON.
Fundraising goal: $15,000.
Why you should donate: Sadly, Trius + Aim was unable to continue operating during the pandemic and are now raising funds to rebuild.
3. Delta Train
Address: 37 Mowat Ave, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $20,000.
Why you should donate: Gyms have been hit hard during the pandemic, being one of the businesses forced to close their doors to all patrons during lockdown periods. Delta Train is raising funds to cover costs during those closures.
4. The Done Right Inn
Address: 861 Queen St W, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $8,000.
Why you should donate: The Done Right Inn has been serving customers for over 20 years. Now, it's raising money to cover rental costs. Even more, when the Inn is able to open again, you can come in and redeem 25% of your donation in credit!
5. Corner Comedy Club
Address: 163 John St, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $10,000.
Why you should donate: The Corner Comedy Club has been providing laughs to the city for almost a decade, so why not give something back? After losing two locations, they are currently raising money to start a third.
6. Tilted Dog Pub
Address: 424 Parliament St, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $3,000.
Why you should donate: This Cabbagetown staple needs your help. Tilted Dog Pub is looking to avoid having to shut their doors forever and is only $400 away from that being a possibility.
7. Always Tattoo Studio
Address: 1258 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON.
Fundraising goal: $5,000.
Why you should donate: This relatively new tattoo studio barely had time to gain its financial footing before COVID-19 it. That's why it's collecting donations to help it stay afloat.
