9 Netflix Shows To Watch On Your Days Off This Summer

Sometimes you have to take it easy and have a Netflix marathon! We've made a list of great Netflix shows to please everyone, with genres including romance, horror, action, and sci-fi. If you get bored this summer and have nothing to do we've included addictive shows that will cure that awful pain!

Grab the snacks, the bae and some cozy blankets.

1. Hannibal

Hannibal is one of the best shows on Netflix for people that love suspense and horror. It follows a troubled man that is trying to solve the murder of eight young girls. The man helping the FBI is referred to a psychiatrist, who's name is Hannibal Lector. I will not say anything else other than this show requires a good snuggle buddy.

2. Weeds

If you have Netflix and haven't watched Weeds then I'm not sure why you have the Flix. Weeds is a brilliant show that is based on a real life woman . It follows her life in an upper class suburban area that sells pot so she can support her family. This show contains violence, weed, a messed up family, weed, sex, and did I mention weed? Weeds keeps you in suspense until the very last episode. The ending takes a neat turn so be sure to watch every season!

3. Arrested Development

Arrested Development is a show that can sort of be described as an inside joke. It's a well scripted show that follows the Bluth family and their bankruptcy troubles. Not only does it have a young and awkward Michael Cera, but we get to see him fall madly in love with his cousin. Sounds pretty twisted right? After watching this show you'll become attached to the characters and the 'inside' jokes. You may also find that Lucille Bluth is your spirit animal.

4. Californication

This show is for the people that believe in sex, drugs and rock n' roll. Hank Moody is a handsome and brooding writer that only cares about himself. Somehow Hank can charm anyone to do anything for him. This show follows his life and his struggles with addiction, writing, and family. I promise that Californication will fight off your summer boredom with it's witty charm.

5. The Mindy Project

The smart and sassy Mindy Kaling plays lead in a sitcom about love and friendship. Mindy is one of the most loveable people on TV because she is herself, no matter what and unapologetically. The Mindy Project follows her love life while incorporating comedy about her life expectations. This show is super addictive and it requires a big glass of wine and some pizza - girls night anyone?

6. Fringe

Just a warning, you may find yourself up until 3am chain watching this show. Fringe is a clever sci-fi pick that follows an FBI agent who uses experimental science to uncover strange events. Watching this series is a beginning to end commitment because it never stops. Did I also mention J.J. Abrams is one of the writers? Get prepared for an emotionally thrilling show.

7. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

If you've seen the gifs from this show you've probably already watched it! Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt follows a girl that was locked up for years by a crazy priest. The priest had told her it was the end of the world and that all of civilization was dead. When Kimmy breaks free she is living and coping in a modern day society with her ancient thinking. This new and innovative comedy will have you in stitches.

8. Daredevil

Open your Netflix and watch Daredevil right now, I dare you! If you're into comic books and shows of the sort then this new Netflix original is worth the watch. It follows a man that is a lawyer by day and a superhero at night! Daredevil is dark and action packed. It probably kicks a lot of other new superhero shows out of the water.

9. Wentworth

This suggestion is for all the lovers of Orange Is The New Black. I was going to put OITNB on this list but I know everyone's seen it. Wentworth is basically the Australian version with less humour and more horror. It follows a woman who gets thrown into jail on account of attempted murder. She has to learn how to deal with the rebellious and horrifying ways of jail.
