A 1.1-km Skating Trail Is Opening At The Top Of Blue Mountain

If you're not a fan of winter, perhaps this will help you appreciate it more - Blue Mountain Ski Resort has announced its construction of a 1.1-km skating trail at the top of its ski hills and it is expected to open in the new year.

The Woodview Mountaintop skating trail  will be a one-of-a-kind attraction in Ontario that lets guests skate through the skies, with beautiful views of the surrounding Niagara Escarpment making the experience all the more special.

"We discovered a hidden opportunity at the top of the mountain where we could take an ice skating experience at Blue and literally elevate it," spoke Dan Skelton, president and CEO of Blue Mountain Resort, to Simcoe.com.

The new skating trail is slated to open in January 2018 and will be located between the top of the Orchard Express and Southern Comfort chairlifts.

The company's snow-making department and Zamboni will ensure the trail is in perfect condition for skating. Nearby patios and rental services will be provided. Admission with rentals is $22 per person for a two-hour session.
