An Ontario Boy With Cancer Opened A Lemonade Stand & His Whole Town Showed Up

A four-year-old boy battling cancer received a heartwarming surprise in his Ontario town last weekend. The Ajax boy with cancer, Sam Cargill, was hosting a lemonade stand for Sick Kids when an entire Ontario community showed up to support his cause. With his lemonade stand, Cargill wanted to raise money for the hospital that has done so much for him and his family. It was a cause that emergency workers did their best to make a huge success.

According to Durham Regional Police, an officer from the 19th Division organized to have members of the police, EMS and Ajax Fire Services come together at the fire hall on Monarch Avenue in Ajax. The convoy of emergency workers then drove to Cargill's stand with lights and sirens blaring. The group purchased cups of lemonade, chatted with the Cargill family and introduced little Sam to the DRP's police dog, Klutch.

Cargill, who is battling a cancerous tumour, has undergone extensive surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy and will continue treatment in the fall. Despite these hardships, Cargill is a fighter and was nothing but smiles while visiting with emergency workers and Klutch.

According to a statement on the Cargill's GoFundMe page, the family has struggled to maintain a steady income as their son continues his treatment. They are seeking funds to help keep them afloat during this difficult time.

“We are trying to raise funds to assist Sam with his medical expenses and allow us to provide for our family during this very difficult time. Literally, any amount of help would be so truly appreciated,” the statement reads.

Seeing an entire community come together to make this brave little boy's day is the epitome of Canadian kindness!
