Bianca Andreescu Had The Best Response To Questions About Her Mom Becoming A Meme

Canada has a new tennis mom. Maria Andreescu, Bianca Andreescu's mom, was catapulted into internet fame during her daughter’s unbelievable ride to victory. The 19-year-old tennis star appears to be loving fame, but the real question is - how does she feel about her parent sharing her hard-earned spotlight?
“They’ve been getting a lot of attention, especially my mom, I think she has her own BuzzFeed post! I think that deserves a round of applause,” Andreescu said during her first press conference back in Canada since winning the U.S. Open. The tennis star has made it clear that she enjoys the attention that she has been receiving. She also digs the fact that the internet has fallen in love with her mom.
Andreescu expanded on her thoughts about her mom becoming a meme during her appearance on Tim and Sid this Wednesday. “All the tweets she’s been getting about the moment after I won the first set she was like [impersonates her mom's clapping] just so calm and collected I don’t know how she does it.”
“If I was a parent, I would be jumping up and down. I don’t know what I’d be doing, but I’m just so grateful with how they are, they’ve been supporting me and believing in since day one, and I just can’t thank you guys enough,” she added.
Maria Andreescu first got the internet's attention when she was spotted in the audience of her daughter's matches. The Romanian native became a hit online for her big hair, dark sunglasses and hilariously low-key reactions to Bianca's big moments.
Andreescu recently credited her mother with teaching her the art of visualization, which she uses before matches to help her focus and tune out crowds. "I've been visualizing ever since I was 12 or 13 when my amazing mother introduced me to it," she gushed during an appearance on Good Morning America on Wednesday.
