She makes history on a monthly basis now, it seems, and a Bianca Andreescu ranking jump has seen 19-year-old set yet another record. The breakout star has managed to accomplish a lot so far and her latest accomplishment is definitely something to be proud of. Andreescu is now ranked as the highest Canadian tennis player in WTA history, her move up to number four ensuring she jumps clear of Eugenie Bouchard as Canada's highest-ranked female player ever.
It's another remarkable feat for the teenager, who was had one of the most incredible seasons it's possible to have as a newbie in the sport. Andreescu was previously fifth in the world, a ranking that tied an earlier Canadian record set by Bouchard, according to Sportsnet.
What makes this even more incredible is that Andreesu ranked outside the top 150 entering the season. Since then, her meteoric rise has seen her win at Indian Wells in California, become the first woman wildcard in the BNP Paribas Open to win the trophy, beat Serena Williams in the Rogers Cup final on home soil to become the first Canadian woman to win the tournament in fifty years, and repeat the feat to secure her first Grand Slam win at the U.S. Open in New York last month.
Andreescu's 17-match winning run did come to an end when she lost to Naomi Osaka during a quarterfinal match at the China Open earlier this month.
But, there's no doubt that Canadians are total Andreescu devotees right now. After winning the U.S Open, for instance, supporters rallied together in support of the Mississauga star.
And, of course, members of Queen Bianca's army were out in force to celebrate her latest achievement.

"Bianca, keep setting Canadian records," read one tweet.
From being treated like royalty at a Raptors preseason game earlier this month to being touted as half of a power couple alongside Pascal Siakam, Andreescu has one of the biggest profiles in Canada right now, let alone Canadian sport.
Andreescu's newfound queen status was shown when a tweet from Bouchard apparently making light of Andreescu's Rogers Cup victory over an injured Williams sparked a backlash among Canadian fans earlier this year. Andreescu had ousted Bouchard in the first round of that tournament.
According to CBC, Andreescu is scheduled to return to the court at the WTA Finals on Sunday, Oct. 27, in Shenzhen, China.
Only Osaka, Karolina Pliskova, and Ashleigh Barty are now ranked above Andreescu in WTA tennis. Meanwhile, Milos Raonic's No. 3 ranking in the men's standings in 2016 remains the best ranking achieved by a Canadian tennis player.
