"Toronto will forever be my 2nd home." 😭💔
In the wake of Toronto's mourning of the G.R.O.A.T (greatest Raptor of all time), Kyle Lowry himself came forward with his final parting words to the city he considers his second home.
On August 4, two days after his sign-and-trade to Miami was announced, Lowry took to his Instagram to write a heartfelt (and utterly tear-jerking) goodbye to all of his fans and supporters throughout the past nine years he spent in the 6ix as a Toronto Raptor.
"Where do I start, I was a 26 year old still trying to find his way. Beginning to understand that I was a valued asset in this league but not yet comprehending how to be the leader I needed to be," Lowry started.
"This is hard to write but the time has come for the next chapter in my story to begin. But the bond I share with you is unbreakable," the G.R.O.A.T. continued. "There's so many things I want to say about the city of Toronto, Canada as a nation. I just can't put them all in this piece."
Lowry wrote in great detail of the "ups and downs" he's had since the start of his journey as a Toronto Raptor, and wrote tons of thank yous to those closest to him, such as Masai Ujiri, Nick Nurse, Drake ("aka 6 god"), his BFFL DeMar DeRozan and his teammates past and present.
Several of his friends and fans commented on his goodbye note. Drizzy expressed his disbelief that his "brother" was leaving, and "Playoff Powell" commented "Groat status."
"Thank you Toronto, thank you Canada," Lowry wrote, "this willl forever be HOME!!!"
Now, where are the tissues at?
