Multiple Bomb Threats Are Shutting Down Universities & Colleges In Toronto Right Now

Toronto Police have just confirmed that multiple post-secondary campuses in the city are currently on lockdown after various bomb threats were received by the schools. Ryerson University and OCAD have confirmed that their campuses are currently closed while police investigate. As for anyone else who may have received a bomb threat, Toronto Police urges them to reach out to authorities immediately. 

UPDATE: Ryerson University has confirmed that Toronto Police have given the 'all clear' for their campus. The Chang School has now re-opened. 

EARLIER: Toronto Police posted a tweet at around 10:15 AM on Tuesday, warning students and staff that the police are currently responding to several bomb threats targeting universities and colleges in the city. Toronto Police state that numerous threats have been made and that they are working with the schools to evacuate staff and students if necessary. 

Toronto Police have confirmed that four schools and ten different campuses are involved, including OCAD, George Brown College, Ryerson and Humber College. 

The first call about the bomb threats was received by police at 8:54 AM. Threats similar in nature were received by police later on. 

Toronto Police claim that all of these calls are being handled by authorities and investigations are underway. Evacuations are being ordered as necessary.

Ryerson University has confirmed that the Chang School is currently closed for a police investigation. Those inside the school are encouraged to seek shelter in the Podium building. 

OCAD University has also made an announcement that all buildings on OCAD U's campus are currently closed and evacuated.

OCAD states that all students and staff who are currently on campus should follow the directions of Saftey and Security Staff. Students are asked to check their emails for updates on the situation.
