Canada Post Announces Some Southern Ontario Cities Won’t Receive Their Mail Today
Earlier today, Environment Canada issued an Extreme Cold Weather alert for Toronto and other southern cities in Ontario. With snowy conditions and cold weather, Canada Post has issued a statement that mail delivery in many parts of the GTA may be delayed or suspended for the day. This means that parts of the GTA may not receive their mail today from Canada Post.

Canada Post ensures that every effort is being made in order to deliver all mail on time today. However, due to the weather conditions, this may not be possible for some parts of Southern Ontario.
The areas that will most likely be affected and will not receive mail today are the GTA, Hamilton, Niagra Falls, and Kitchener-Waterloo. Delivery in these areas will be affected until Canada Post deems it safe to resume the delivery of mail.
With temperatures continuing to drop throughout the night, there is a strong chance that this delay will last throughout the day and not resume until tomorrow morning.

Yellow alertWeather conditions are impeding mail delivery in Southern Ontario including Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Kitchener-Waterloo and the GTA. While every effort is being made to deliver the mail, some customers may not receive mail today.
Canada Post is also encouraging residents to salt and clear all walkways and stairs that are leading up to their doors and mailboxes. This ensures that the mailmen on your route remain safe, and no extra delays will be added to your mail route.
This delay in mail service throughout Southern Ontario comes after Environment Canada issued an Extreme Cold Weather alert throughout Toronto.
Environment Canada is urging anyone who is outside for long periods of time to take constant breaks from the cold. This may be one of the main contributing factors to the mail delays.
As a result of this cold, Pearson airport also released a statement earlier today that there may be small delays as the temperatures continue to drop. The outdoor workers at the airport may need to take more frequent breaks to avoid the cold, which may slow down some of the work.
