New to rock climbing? Hub’s got you covered, and they’re excited to teach you the basics! Prior to their first climb, every Hub newbie is required to receive an orientation, which focuses on falling technique, general safety, etiquette, and gym rules. You're defs in the BEST of hands here, folks! Hub will have you prepped and raring to go in no time - in fact, minutes after you're done orientation, you're all ready to start climbing!
For newcomers, Hub is the perfect place to tick rock climbing off your bucket list. Not only are the Hub staff extremely welcoming and knowledgeable, but they're also more than happy to discuss any interests or concerns that you may have about indoor rock climbing. The facility has all the features to support new climbers, too: for example, Hub has 35 autobelays (the machines that slowly lower you back down after you climb).
The gym is arranged according to skill level, with separate up-and-down walls and angles designed specifically for beginners. If you’re still learning but are up for a challenge, Hub offers beginner-level chimneys and arches to tackle as well. Think of it like the bunny hill at your local ski slope. After all, practice makes perfect!
On the other hand, if you’ve been effortlessly scaling walls like some kind of rock climbing Spiderman for years, rest assured that you’ll still get a thrill from their facilities. Hub is the tallest climbing gym in the GTA – AKA your workout experience here will (literally!) overshadow that of your previous rock climbing gyms. Plus, this climbing gym is the perfect workout for people of all ages, from four years old all the way up to 98!
Hub’s 30,500 ft² facility boasts walls up to 49 feet high, so you can just picture the endless climbing opportunities that await you. The climbing area itself is an architectural marvel, with a stunning archway starting at 45 feet high and traversing across 25 feet for your climbing pleasure.
Additional features of Hub's gym include 70+ lead-only climbs, more than 100 top-rope climbs, 35 auto-belay stations, over 100 bouldering routes, a 30 ft speed wall, and much more!
Being the largest rock climbing gym in Canada, Hub has extraordinary perks that most other climbing facilities in the country don't. There are even certain promotions for kids, which means you can bring the whole family along!
Climbing at Hub is an experience like no other. For example, they have a giant 48 ft-tall dragon installation. Yes, a dragon that you can CLIMB. It was designed as an ode to the classic hero vs. dragon story that will test the skills of even the most seasoned climbers – and Game of Thrones fans alike. In a nutshell, you get to live out your dragon-slaying fantasies while getting your fix of climbing adrenaline!
Hub also recently added an augmented reality wall to their space, which is INCREDIBLE. Simply put, it’s a video game wall, where you’re the protagonist in a real-time, live-action rock climbing video game. Exercising while playing video games? This is your time to shine!
As an added bonus, you’ll have so much fun conquering Hub’s walls that you won’t even notice how strenuous your workout session is. Imagine this: a workout that you ACTUALLY look forward to! Gone are the days when the mere thought of even stepping foot in a gym seems too daunting; Hub is changing the workout game for the better.
Hub is accessible to everyone, no matter your budget. In-and-out day passes are $23 (less for students), and month-to-month memberships start at $70/month. And if you're a new climber, Hub has special packages starting at $49 that include belay lessons!
Whether you go solo or with a group of friends, this rock climbing gym has something for everyone. Hub Climbing Mississauga may be new to the GTA, but climbers are already raving about the facility. Head to Hub ASAP to discover your new favourite workout!
