The CNE has always got tons of cool stuff in store for your entertainment pleasure, but with all the options, it can be hard to narrow things down. That's why we've compiled some events that look extra fun so that you can plan ahead. In no particular order, here are some of the coolest CNE 2019 events:
Woodstock Weekend When: August 17 & 18 (2:30 p.m. till 7:30 p.m. both days)Where: Bandshell ParkIn celebration of the iconic Woodstock Music festival's 50th anniversary, you can hear a bunch of talented musical tributes to all of your favourite classic rock bands and teleport back to the days of peace and love. If you're into weird ways of partying, look no further. Now you can put on headphones and dance to music that only you can hear while in a group of people doing the same thing. Videos of this should be a hilarious addition to your social media.
FAN EXPO Picnic & Parade
When: August 19Where: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.For the first time at the CNE, characters from different worlds come together to have a picnic. There will also be a costume red carpet and a cosplay parade at 3:30 p.m. along with a car show that will include the 1981 DeLorean from Back to the Future, Herbie the Love Bug, and the Dukes of Hazzard General Lee. When: September 1 (7:30 p.m. till 10 p.m.) Where: Bandshell ParkEveryone's favourite First Nations/Ottawa-based duo just got back from BC's trippy Shambhala Festival. They will for sure be serving up some incredible sounds for your listening and dancing pleasure. Their dancey fusion of hip hop, dubstep, moombahton and reggae always gets people going.
When: August 19 - 23 / August 26 - 30(7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. AND 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)Where: Princes' Gate is the departure locationThere is a 200 year history to the CNE grounds that you can learn all about on this hour long evening walking tour. There is a haunted past that is sure to be more entertaining than a Netflix special on the subject. Come learn about Toronto's creepy history.
