Kawhi Leonard helped Toronto become champions, but the trade that the Raptors made to get him was a heartbreaking one for fans. DeMar DeRozan left the Raptors back in 2018 after general manager Masai Ujiri sent the player to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi, sacrificing a franchise favourite for a soft-spoken superstar. Since then, fans have been eagerly awaiting a reunion between the ex-Raptor and his former teammates, and they finally just got one.
DeRozan was spotted shooting hoops with his old teammates ahead of the Raptors pre-season training camp in Quebec City. Based on the photos of DeRozan goofing around with the Raptors on the court, it's as if he never left.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a real reunion without a little DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry bromance action. The pair, who stole hearts during their six-year run together in Toronto, recently popped up on DeRozan’s Instagram story. DeRozan and Lowry are pictured jamming to music together in the car, just like old times.

DeRozan may have all the love for his former teammates, but the player didn’t deny that he felt bitter about paving the way for Kawhi to take all the glory.

"Honestly, I don't even think I said this – I probably said this to my own inner circle," DeRozan told Bleacher Report back June. "But if it wasn't for all the years and groundwork that I did before then, none of those things would've been possible."
"Yes, I fought. I sacrificed. I pushed the limits to where I had to be the sacrificial lamb. “You just have to sit back and understand you're the reason so many things were even possible."
In the end, it’s hard to blame DeRozan for feeling left out of the Raptors' landmark victory. But, even if it's just to visit, it's good to see him back on the court with our Raptors again.
