GO Transit has announced that they will be introducing some service changes in the new year to improve travel times for commuters. By January 2020, travellers can expect to see new express train options and service changes. Four main lines will be affected by the GO Transit service updates, and some commuters could find themselves saving nearly 10 minutes on their trip. One change that commuters can expect to see from the Lakeshore East express train to Union Station is a new stop added at Rouge Hill.
Four express service trains to Union will now be stopping at Rouge Hill GO station, starting January 13, according to GO Transit's website. These service tweaks will save passengers up to 10 minutes on their commute, meaning that you can actually stop for a coffee before you head into work in the morning. There will also be a lot of stop time changes to the Kitchener, Lakeshore East, Stouffville, and Barrie lines, so make sure to check the schedule to see all the details. The Route 40 GO Bus to Pearson International will now be stopping at the park-and-ride lot at Dundas St. and Hwy. 407, according to Metrolinx. You can park your car and hop on the GO Train to Pearson for cheaper parking close by the airport. Some other updates are being made to make the commute a little speedier. The morning Stouffville line to Union Station will no longer stop at Danforth GO, and passengers can take the Lakeshore East express train that arrives four minutes later.
The Barrie line will begin service changes on January 11, while the other three lines will see changes on January 13.
