While southern Ontario has finally been able to enjoy some nice summer weather this weekend, it's not here to stay. This Monday heavy rain is expected to plague Southern Ontario for the majority of the day, just in time for Game 5 of the NBA finals. Sadly, those who are planning on cheering on the Raptors outdoors at one of the viewing parties may be in for a wet night.

Raptors fans around the country and the world are getting excited for what might be the last game of the NBA finals on Monday night. With the Raptors leading the championships 3-1, all the team needs is one more win to take home the title. While fans don't want to miss the one game that might make NBA history, rain might get in the way of some Ontarians viewing plans.

According to the Weather Network Sunday will mark the last day of the warm and dry weather that we have been enjoying over the past few days. Cool and wet weather will be returning overnight on Sunday and is expected to stay throughout Monday.

This evening, rain clouds are expected to move into southern Ontario and spotty showers may be seen throughout the evening. However, the rain won't really start until Monday.

The Weather Network warns that by early Monday morning rain will start to fall throughout the GTA and cottage country area. Although, heavier showers won't start until the afternoon.

Toronto is expected to see up to 20mm of rain throughout the day and some thunder and lightning are expected with these storms.

Some areas in Northeastern Ontario will be seeing up to 50mm of rain which could result in localized flooding throughout the day.

Yet, the weather during the hours of the Raptors game is when it really matters and sadly, it doesn't look good.

Rain is expected to fall throughout the night, and anyone who will be watching the game outside should come prepared with a raincoat and even an umbrella. In Toronto, rain is expected to be falling at 9 PM when the game starts is expected to fall until around 11 PM.

If you're planning to watch the game outside at one of the many viewing parties that will be happening, make sure to check with your event space that it's a rain or shine event.
