If you're looking for a swanky sports bar in the city, look no further than Pick 6ix Sports.  Drake has officially breathed new life into the restaurant space that once occupied 33 Yonge Street in downtown Toronto called Pick 6ix.

Under entirely new management, Pick 6ix Sports, the progeny of Drake's original dining establishment that both opened and closed last year, hosted hundreds of guests at the restaurant's grand opening last Friday.

I had the privilege of attending Pick 6ix Sports' grand opening on Friday - sadly, Drake wasn't there, but he still managed to deliver an incredible opening night. I was instantly impressed by the bar's atmosphere and tone. The mod decor embellished with cool gold accents cultivated a social dining environment that was both elegant and comfortable, and I particularly loved the restaurant's sun-filled solarium that brought the beauty of the city indoors.

The grandeur of Pick 6ix Sports' chic ambience was balanced by the addition of pool tables and flat-screen TVs to enhance the renovated restaurant's sports bar vibe.  Pick 6ix Sports also boasts a completely new patio area and a special event VIP suite.

While Pick 6ix Sports serves "elevated bar classics and fresh modern pub fare with a twist", the restaurant also offers a variety of specialty menu selections for each day of the week.

The first thing I noticed while dining at Pick 6ix Sports was how attentive and helpful the staff were; my waiter was eager to apply his extensive knowledge of the menu to assist me in selecting the dishes that would best suit my personal tastes.  I snapped a few photos of the things I tried:

In addition, the restaurant serves a unique collection of cocktails, bottled brews, and wine daily from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM, and boasts a long list of local and international craft beers on tap.

I tried one of the bar's signature cocktails, The Toronto, a piquant concoction of Lot 40 rye, Fernet Branca, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, delicately garnished with an orange peel.

The contemporary sports bar located directly in the heart of Toronto's Financial District features a menu curated by executive chef Ivan Bailey.  The menu's vast catalogue of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, mains, bowls, pizzas, and desserts - which highlights half-price wine bottles and daily happy hour promos - is a refreshing take on many class sports bar favourites, like chicken wings, baby back ribs, nachos, and burgers.

Chef Bailey also opted for some unconventional menu choices, like vegan potstickers, jerk chicken, and ribeye tomahawk steak for two.  I opted for a personal menu favourite - a platter of juicy buttermilk fried chicken and creamy mac and cheese was served up fresh straight from the kitchen to my table, and it did not disappoint.

Perhaps the most gratifying aspect of the menu is that the prices that accompany the extensive selection of delectable items are anything but exorbitant.  Pick 6ix Sports' Happy Hour specials served daily from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. won't break the bank, with most menu items in the $4-$8 range.

The restaurant offers daily burger specials from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM, with each specialty burger listed at the $6 mark.
