Incredibly Dangerous 23-Year-Old Human Trafficker Arrested By Ontario Police

Durham Police have confirmed that a 23-year-old fugitive named Alijah Weir-Mohammed who has been on the run since mid-December, has been arrested. After nearly three months, Weir-Mohammad, who was considered to be extremely dangerous, has been arrested.   Weir-Mohammad was allegedly involved in human trafficking which involved four victims from Southern Ontario and citizens were warned to not approach him if he was discovered.

According to the original police report that was released on December 20, 2018, Hamilton Police investigated multiple incidents from November to December 2018 and have obtained a warrant for his arrest. 

A variety of charged are being laid against Weird-Mohammad, such as trafficking in persons, sexual assault and advertising sexual services. A full list of his 23 charges from the Hamilton Police news release is listed below. 

  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm
  • Assault level 1 x 2
  • Forcible Confinement
  • Sexual Assault x 3
  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Trafficking in persons x 2
  •  Uttering Threats
  • Theft under $5000
  • Mischief under $5000 x 2
  • Advertising Sexual Services x 2
  • Destroying Documents
  • Use Stolen Credit Card x 3
  • Benefit from Sexual Services x 2
  • Procuring for Sexual Services

Sergeant Kathy Stewart from the Hamilton Police Services had previously confirmed to Narcity on March 13 that Weir-Mohammed had still not been located. He was still wanted by the Hamilton Police Service's Human Trafficking Unit as well as six other police services in Ontario. 

However, as of this afternoon, it has been confirmed that Weir Mohammed was arrested in Bowmanville after a brief struggle also on March 13.

While Police have located Weir-Muhammed's location, four warrants are issued for four other male subjects who were part of this investigation. 

Police are offering a $2,000 cash reward for anyone who may be able to give information that will lead to an arrest.
