John Tory is loving the shade that Drake is throwing at the Milwaukee Bucks. Toronto's mayor took to Twitter this Friday revealing that a reporter asked him if he thought Drake's courtside behaviour at the Raptor’s playoff games was “too much”, to which Tory responded with nothing but praise for the 6ix God. Between John Tory and Drake, the Raptors have all the support they could ask for going into Game 6.
“Drake is Toronto's most enthusiastic ambassador. The fact that it aggravates people in Milwaukee actually makes me happy - it means I don't have to do it!” said mayor Tory.
This isn’t the first time Tory has shown up for his buddy Drake. The mayor famously turned the CN Tower gold back in February at the rapper’s request to celebrate the artist's fourth Grammy win. If only all of us could have a friendship like Drake and Tory’s.
Today a reporter asked me if @Drake is "too much" during the @Raptors playoffs. Here's my answer: @Drake is Toron… https://t.co/2b50CMkCZ9— John Tory (@John Tory)1558719813.0
However, it’s no secret at this point that Drake’s next-level passion for the Raptors has caused him to take a little heat online recently. Drake gave Toronto’s head coach Nick Nurse a courtside massage at the Raptors' last home game, which drew fierce backlash from Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer and Georgios Dimitropoulos, who represents Giannis Antetokounmpo.
"Imagine a gig & an athlete on VIP seats, right next to the band, stands up on the stage just to show off during the entire game, knowing cameras are on him, occasionally even massaging the singer. Security (and) him both allow it,” Antetokounmpo tweeted.
Drake was also spotted laughing at Giannis when he botched a free throw during the Raptors Game 4 face-off against the Bucks:
The Raptors ambassador took it a step further on Thursday night, when Budenholzer’s daughter, Mallory Edens, attempted to clown Toronto’s hype man. Edens sat courtside during Game 5 with a Pusha T t-shirt on, which appeared to be a subtle jab at the rapper, seeing as Pusha is Drake's nemesis.
However, when the Raptors pulled a 105-99 victory over the Bucks, Drake changed his Instagram profile picture to a selfie of Edens and featured her in his story with a caption that reeked of sweet revenge.

“All is fair in war and war and trust me I’ll still get you tickets to ovo fest,” Drake wrote. Drake may get a little too passionate from the sidelines, but he's a man of his word, so we're sure that he'll deliver on that promise!
