Judd Apatow Puts Toronto-Area Centre In The Square On Blast For Hosting Bill Cosby

Bill Cosby is booked to perform at Kitchener's Centre in the Square and London's Budweiser Gardens in early January. The comedian has recently come under scrutiny after about 30 different women independently came forward to claim that Cosby had either raped, or attempted to rape them at one point or another over the last few decades.

Cosby has stayed mostly quiet about these allegations, apart from demanding that black journalists stay neutral about the story, and referring to the rape accusations as "innuendo." The comedian is also reported to have hired private investigators to dig up dirt on his accusers, something which many of them have cited as a reason they were afraid to come forward sooner.

On Boxing Day, filmmaker Judd Apatow took to Twitter to decry Centre in the Square's and Budweiser Garden's decision to go on with Cosby's scheduled appearance, in light of these accusations. His tweets garnered criticism from Cosby supporters, and praise from his detractors.

The London Abused Women's Centre has called for a boycott of the show, and Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo encourages fans to evaluate their support of the comedian. There will also be an alternative event on the evening of the Kitchener show, being held in protest of it.
