Krispy Kreme Is Coming To Scarborough This Summer To Boost Toronto's Donut Options

If you're like us, these last couple of months has often left us feeling like we want to comfort eat our weight in sweet treats. Well, if you're in the eastern end of Toronto, boy, have we got some good news for you. Krispy Kreme is coming to Scarborough this summer.

In all honestly, we donut think we can wait for this.

The wildly popular U.S. donuts and coffee chain teased the sweet, sweet news on Friday, May 22.

In an Instagram post, it shared a photo of a banner reading "Summer 2020," alongside the caption: "A little reason to smile this Friday morning."

The location was tagged as Scarborough, and a similar tweet from the chain confirmed this.

Currently, specific details are unavailable, including the store's exact location and when it is likely to open for business.

But the Krispy Kreme Canada website seems to suggest it will be located somewhere on Kingston Road, which runs from Toronto's Queen Street East out to Whitby.

And a Toronto police officer was apparently tipped off well in advance, tweeting back in November that it will be found at Kingston Road and Lawrence, around five minutes' drive from U of T Scarborough.

Narcity reached out to Krispy Kreme Canada for more information.

The chain's site also has job postings currently up for the Scarborough store, including Assistant Managers.

In replies to excited customers on social media, Krispy Kreme Canada hinted at some more details of the new store.

While it noted that it cannot provide an official opening date yet, the company did clarify that the new location will be a factory store. So that means freshly-made donuts. What a result.

Please forgive us if our eyes glaze over while thinking about this. Particularly with those new summer options already available.

This new Scarborough store is the latest step in Krispy Kreme's Canadian comeback.

The chain already has four stores or cafes in Toronto, but its most popular location seems to be the factory store in Mississauga.

Back in late March, that Heartlands Town Centre shop hit headlines for the massive lineup of cars waiting to get their sugar fix at the drive-thru.

So this is great news for donut fans in the eastern areas of the GTA.

Getting your hands on a sweet fresh-made dozen no longer requires a day trip from the 905 to the 416.

Holey moly.
